Americans don't generally bash Canadians, as most of us don't know enough about them to bash them. Some may say that they live in igloos or ride polar bears to work, but that's about it. Most Americans deem Canadians as people very similar to us, and as we don't consider them just like U.S. citizens, we consider them close cousins. The fact that we know so much less about them then they know about us, seems to upset them off to no end. To be honest, I've never heard a negative word about Canadians in the U.S., and I've lived here my whole life.
From my experience, Canadian identity partially relies on the fact that they're not American. Would explain the need that when many Canadians travel overseas, they wear the Maple Leaf with pride. To show that their Canadian, not American, and circumvent any possible anti-american sentiment with the locals.
I've seen large amounts of anti-american sentiment from Canadians. Even a few of their politicians. And a few more politicians who warned against the dangers of anti-americanism, and how it would harm their country.
The U.S. has love for Canada. Canada it appears has hesitation and wait for the U.S., not sure if we're their friend or not, even though we keep telling them that we are.
Overall, I'd say the bashing is rather one sided. This article sums it all up and is good. From the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

I broke up with my fiancee in January. He is a great guy, funny, kind, generous, understands me completely. And I mean completely. He's almost finished with med school. The reason why I broke up with him is because he was overseas, and I was in Canada and it was putting too much strain on the relationship.
At the time, I felt like he wasn't doing enough to keep the relationship moving forward, and I had a lot on my plate, so I snapped and broke up with him. Now that I've had more time to think about us, our relationship- I realized how much I really loved him, and how much he really worked to keep our relationship good.
I'm almost done with university, and I really want to travel the world and see what's out there. The problem is, I can't seem to go out on dates without comparing the new guys to my ex. I constantly listen to his band's music on youtube, I always ask my friends that are in the same town if they have any news about him.
I know that I'll always love him, because he was my first big love. But should I strike out into a world where I can't even see myself dating anyone else, or should I reconsider what I lost?
Why do they publish and distribute so much literature about Jesus?
Their book "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" is an awesome scriptural analysis of the Gospel account of Jesus' life! Those who persist in spreading hearsay about us only show themselves to be uninformed to an incredible degree concerning our work, which by the way is in imitation of Jesus work of making known the Fathers name and purpose or they are "workers of lawlessness". (Matt 7:23) or as Gamaliel said at (Acts 5:39) . . .fighters actually against God. .
Compare John chapter 17:6 “I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world. . . .
and (John 17:18) "Just as you sent me forth into the world, I also sent them forth into the world. " and John 17:26 "And I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”
and Matthew 24:14, "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."
does it need rewriting? wat can i fix? im only in 7th grade so thts why it not perfect. btw, keely can c ghosts if tht wasnt obvious :). and tammy is a ghost. ok thanks :)
Chapter 8
Dinner at the Aldsworth household was top priority. Especially since my mom worked so hard on making a pleasant and tasty banquet and missing it was not an option. You were either sitting at the table sinking your teeth into the tasty garlic bread or not there, losing the opportunity to fill your stomach with succulent cuisines. Even if you had to work overtime or finish some last minute homework- my mom wouldn’t take any excuses. Its strange because back in Phoenix, we would order pizza every night but ever since my mom fell in love, she put all her effort into making us fancy meals.
As everyone took a seat, my mom set down the tasty bowl of pasta. My two brothers smelled the flavorsome garlic and hovered over the food.
“Boys, can you at least wait until I set the forks down!” my mom yelled causing Josh and Tommy to immediately lean back from the sudden outburst.
For some reason, my mom was anxious about us kids’ social scene. She was like
“Brad, how’s school? Any parties? And how about you, Keels? Make any new friends?” Josh , who was stirring his smoothie with his straw- apparently the three bowls of pasta and the whole basket of garlic bread he inhaled wasn’t filling enough- went “Yeah, I would, if I wasn’t so busy with my job.
This, however, was news to me so I asked “You have a job?”
“He works at Lin’s Chinese Buffet.” Tommy said. Josh was perfectly capable of answering himself but Tommy was searching for any possible way to inform us.
Suddenly, a loud sound was heard from upstairs. Tommy flung out of his chair from the impulsive noise and bounded up the stairs, probably to prevent a sudden explosion from some type of experiment he was conducting. I swear he muttered “Oh shit.” but that’s so unlike him.
There was a long pause, and then Paul said “He delivers for them. Brings home a bucket load of tips.”
“Im saving up,” Josh said wiping his shirt with the sleeve of his sweatshirt, “For a new cell phone.”
“Huh.” I said.
“Hey, after I finished my job, I rented The Strangers. I heard its pretty scary.” Josh said.
“I’ll pass.” My mom and Paul both said and headed up the stairs leaving me the only one in the room.
“Im so in” I said. Passing on a horror flick wasn’t a possibility for me, especially since the commercials of it looked pretty gruesome.
Josh collapsed on the couch while I pressed play on the clicker After we watched for a few minutes, burning our eyes with the graphic scenes, Josh-to my great surprise-screamed several times like a girl. I finally managed to calm myself down, but then noticed a shadow standing behind the table from the corner of my eye which made me even more tense. I slowly turned my head, prepared for whatever it was, and realized it was Tammy. What a relief, right? Wrong. That perky smile she usually wears was gone, and in its place was an unpleasant frown. Her jaw was stiff and her eyes were fixed on my brother. The defiant look on her face was intimidating, even for a little girl and I knew she was up to no good. I was not basing this assumption by the glare in her eyes. Oh, no. See, I knew she was staring at someone and the only person in the room with me was Josh. The logical explanation was that he was the victim for whatever reason. I followed the direction of her gaze and it wasn’t exactly Josh that she was staring at. It was actually the fork that someone thoughtlessly left on the table. And as I stood there, I saw her hand slowly reach for the fork. In a blink of an eye, she was behind my brother holding the fork directly above his head. I acted without thinking and flew myself at her. We both went flying. Josh didn’t notice until he heard a loud, thump causing his head to snap in my direction. Tammy disappeared leaving nothing but empty air under me.
“I uh…tripped.” I said hiding the fork behind my back.
“Whatever. Pop up some popcorn, will you?” he said. I nodded and headed to the kitchen.
I wondered, as I stood there waiting for the popcorn to pop, what was Tammy’s problem. I know Josh is a jerk, but what could he have possibly done to her to make her that upset? He can’t even see her or talk to her, so whatever comment he said that was insulting wasn’t intentional. As I heard each pop in the microwave, the smell of butter drifted around the kitchen. I opened the microwave and filled a bowl with popcorn. As I was about to leave the room, Tammy appeared in front of me.
“Tammy,” I said, “What was that about?”
“Don’t ever,” she said resentfully, “Interfere.”
A phone sang a harmony of ringing. Tammy gave me a bitter look and disappeared inexplicably. I had a feeling that that wasn’t the last time I’ll see her. I knew she was going to be back, and it wasn’t just to say “Hi”. She was practically glowing with determination and she wouldn’t
give up so easily.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Hey, its Pierce.” he said.
“Oh, what’s up?”
“Well, I have this football game and I was wondering if you wanted to come and see me play.” he said.
What if Tammy does it again? Only worse!, I thought. Everything in my mind was vague, and was difficult searching for a definite response. All the answers in my head were unreliable to trust and I desperately wanted someone else’s reassurance but there was no one to ask.
“Keely, you still there?” he asked.
“Yeah, I can go.”
“Cool.” he said and hanged up.
I was just watching the news this morning and they were talking about how people around he world are so happy Obama is president and how he is going to change he world. Because we are the most powerful country in the world I can understand why people are happy, they have to remember they are just foreigners to us/him and they have their own leaders that OUR president cannot overstep. Either way it's America's interest he has first!!! I think it's flattering that the world actually likes him like that. But it's not his responsibility to change he world. Or to help change their countries. The constitution only covers AMERICA!
After the war is over and the economy is stabilized there isn't much else for him to do with the rest of world. Obviously as long as no trouble is started towards us or our allies, he doesn't have the responsibility of anyone else but us.
And from what I can remember, last year the world hated us, but now they love us? How wishy washy, to judge a whole nation on one person? And they wonder why we ignore then, who wants friends like that? And most of the world don't appreciate America/Americans anyway so why should/would we help them (culture, people, etc). Buy the way I have met a lot of foreigners that don't even know what American culture is but they seem to think they know everything about us. I think it's because American culture is like being in the forest and trying to see a tree. People should do their research on American culture. I'm not bashing anyone, I just don't think it's fair to us or OUR president to make him feel as if he has to fix their problems too, we want a healthy president not a stressed out one. I think we keep him busy alone. But Barrack doesn't sound like he's trying to cater to those people, he just wants us to have a good name around the world which is why I love him and he isn't trying to be this international celebrity he's just a normal American man trying to do good for our country.
I think it's lovely that people admire OUR President so much, but is it fair to him or us for them to feel as if he/we have to cater to them or that we voted for them as if they are part of OUR country?
Plus places like like Australia, left the war a long time ago, and a lot of countries in Europe are just as powerful as America so I don't get their problem with America, as if WE THE PEOPLE did something to them. Bush dragged them into the war, recession, etc. not all of us. And most of our soldiers don't even know what they are fighting for, the problem we have with us is the same problems everyone has with us. So to blame us all for Bush shows how ignorant the whole world can be sometimes (even us). And loving us because of Obama is even more crazy, cause their are still bush supporters and McCain ones. But I have traveled a lot and no people are as nice and kind as Americans, there is just something different and special about us that no one else can touch.
Hey Guys,
What I mean is this:
http://www.your-domain.com/ displays your index.
http://www.your-domain.com/contact_us.html displays your Contact Page.
Is there some way to make http://www.your-domain.com/contact display your Contact Us page? I remember someone telling me there is a way but I tried putting separate index's in folders named Contact, About Us, News and etc. but it always displayed as http://www.your-domain.com/contact/index.html
Does anyone know how to make the URL not appear with .html at the end?
Thanks in advance, links would be double appreciated!
Warm Regards,
Jason Xiao

Oh no Obama is going to put us all in camps -
We won't be able to blow things up anymore which will mean instant invasion -oh no !
Oh no the rich might have a raise in their taxes which will upset such intelectual giants such as Bill from Fox news -
Oh no ---- Bill from Fox is on the wrong side now --- !
What do we do ? Why can't we bomb more small nations anymore and destroy small mud huts based on a rumor someone is thinking bad thoughts about us ?
----------------------
Now that the shoe is on the other foot
How does it feel to be on the other side ? The one that opposes all those offices you demanded respect for during the various and completely unnecessary bombing raids on the 3rd world ?

Just rememeber the terrorists struck when Bush a Republican was in office
Perhaps they thought he was too weak and stupid and would bankrupt the nation as a response - and then take your freedoms away via Presidential orders - so you could be more like them
Is that why the terrorists chose to strike when a Republican was in office ?
No matter what your political convictions are this is an eye opener....
David Letterman, on President Bush. (Surprising)
David Letterman wrote this; it's the David we don't often see....
'As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.'
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'
A. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
D. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
E. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state.
F. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
G. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.
H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
I. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.
J. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.
K. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
L. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
M. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?
Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?
Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it.......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' discharge after a few days in
the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?
Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murde
Honestly I don't Know If Letterman really wrote this But Who cares It's well writen and so very True
Funny Thing is That NO it Is very TRUE And Like i Said before who cares who wrote it You see I am talking CUT AND DRY all crap aside this Has been true and getting worse since the hippies!
Why do other countries besides U.S. care about the U.S. so much? I know they don't care THAT much. But why do they talk about the U.S. so much on their news, and care about us? Just wondering....
i am going out withthis boy named nick and so far we have been texting each other and talking on the phone but im really tired of doing that he is all the way in ________ and im ___________ so we cant see each other and also people keep talking about us on the news and somehow i accidently told our first date and so did he and now i think ppl know we go out im really getting depressed what should i do to make me happy and what can i do to see him
Try to read this article by David Letterman without thinking Democrat or Republican..... we need to all be grateful!!

either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than
honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a
''dishonorable' ' discharge after a few days in
the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment
in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?
Say what you want but I blame it on the
media. If it bleeds it leads and they
specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a
car crash with blood and guts How many will
watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The
media knows this and media outlets are for-profit
corporations. They offer what sells, and when
criticized, try to defend their actions by
'justifying' them in one way o r a nother Just ask
why they tried to allow a murd
I've been working for my boyfriend for a year and a half. We work in a small office and everyone knows about us. We keep things very professional, I don't get special treatment, and there's never been a problem.
We had a new woman start last week and I share an office with her. It's always a little awkward telling new people that I'm "dating the boss". I never know how or when to bring it up, so it makes things a little awkward.
Basically by the end of her very first day I knew her entire life story. She made a special point of going on a long rant about how her ex-husband left her for his secretary. This happened 8 years ago but she talks as if it was yesterday. She went on and on about how sleazy it was that he would date an employee, and what a tramp this girl was for dating her boss. I nodded politely and sympathized, but inside I was thinking, "Uh-oh."
It's been a week and she still finds a way to bring up her ex-husband every day, who's now married to this girl. How on earth do I break the news to her that I am one of those "tramps" she hates so much? I don't think she'll be able to differentiate between us and realize that I was not part of breaking up a marriage.
I feel like I can't let this go on much longer or she'll think I was hiding it from her and be even more upset. I know I shouldn't care what she thinks but we work together every day and this is really awkward. She wouldn't find out from co-workers because everyone is older and keeps to themselves. Help!
I introduced my girlfriend to (2) people I once considered friends… One of the reasons that these people and I are no longer friends is because of the things they’ve said about her.. which included calling her names and (bros before hoes comment… ) one was even disrespectful enough to tell me he was interested in her. After an argument the other said he would lie to my girlfriend about me cheating to break us up. I decided not to talk to these people any more but she still continues to have contact with them.. by email texting.. and since I’ve stopped talking to them they’ve decided to have more contact with her. I told her everything they’ve done or said about us, and she either doesn't believe me or says I am being jealous. What should I do? I asked that she not reply to them and to ignore them so they could go away but according to her they’re her friends… what should I do? I am just trying to look out for her.
My ex and I just got back together before i left for afghanistan 8 months ago and things were a little rocky and needed work but we knew that it would be that way at first. A little history, we were together for 3 years until last year before i left for afghan we were having allot of trouble, 2 weeks after i was out there she says she wants and break and no talking about us, it devastated me and she talked constantly about not getting back together, i thought it was over for us and she stopped talking to me which is hard on someone in a war zone. I got with a girl for 2 weeks out there who told me to just forget my ex and start over but i could not stop thinking about her, i broke up with that girl. Right after that my ex started talking to me again and said she was sorry for everything and that she loved me and wanted only me, she had gotten into my email and found out that i had a short fling out there and said that it tore her apart and she couldn't stand it. things were great on the phone and all and she had been back east at her brothers the whole time and we lived on the west coast so she promised that she would be there when i got home. We have at the time a 1 yr old daughter and she had driven my car while i was gone which was fine but she had to drive back to our home and in reno the car broke down, luckily for us her mom lives there. I got home from afghan and she was still stuck in reno but the car was getting repaired, after the repairs she started home and that night while she was driving home i got the worst news of my life on the way home she had married a long time friend of hers(actually an ex boyfriend who she had been talking to the whole time) and was just coming to drop off my car and let me visit my daughter for a week and then head back east and wait for her husband to come back from over seas. when she got there, there was a lot of crying for both of us, i was delirious i could not eat or sleep, before she left she displayed feelings for me and that she still loved me but was now commited to her new husband but then she did somthing weird, she had sex with me right before she left after 2 weeks of being there. For a whole month i never left my bed, i was a hot mess. after my friends made me get out again i met someone else and for 7 months i saw this person and even had them move in and i even felt like i could love this person but i could not stop thinking about my ex and i still loved her. we talked all the time like we used to, after a visit by her husband at thanksgiving she started talking about maybe coming back and that she didn't want to be with him anymore because she had made a mistake. then i did something bad, i broke up with the girl i was with witch was terrible for me to do but i felt i had to since staying with her would be lying to her and wrong. my ex came back just before i had to go to afghan again and i had my doubts about weather she would be there when i got back, now im back and shes still here, she stayed but while i was gone she has become cold, wont love me back, sometimes affectionate and when she wants sex comes to me but like in the days before she left will cry afterwords, says i cant please her but other women have no problem with my lovemaking so it cant be all me. I love her and my daughter deeply, before i came home she has been talking about "if" we didn't stay together she should start planning on what she should do and its not like her, she has always been a spontaneous person and doesn't plan anything but now she does? openly talking about leaving me makes me believe that she has already decided to leave and has made up her mind and is just biding her time until the right moment. I think she still loves me but does not think im right for her and wont tell me until its too late. I would do anything for her but witdidnt commitment from her and her no wish to resolve any of our problems i feel like this is done but there has to be something i can do, or say besides that i losimplerecause right now i dont think she deserves my love or anything else from me until i get that. sorry this is long, thank you for reading it though since it is complicated but maybe simpiler than i think
We were due to move in together, but I had doubts about us for a while.
I told her the news today and at first she was angry, now she just sent a text saying 'I don't know what to do now'
I've hurt her and have offered to help her pay for a place if she doesn't want to stay at her parents - but she said, that's no longer my problem now...
I feel so bad, but I have to see through my decision. Any advice?

' As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it
seems to hit the mark
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given
the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?''
A.. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B.. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
D.. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
E.. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state?
F.. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
G.. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.
H.. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter
to take you to the hospital.
I.. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.
J.. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames, thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.
K.. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
L.. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
The president who has a measly 31
percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to
bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending
you and me?
Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't
take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it......are you upset at the President because he
actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have
volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' ' discharge after a few days in the brig.

The walk home from school that day seemed unbearably long. I tried to tell myself it was because of the freezing weather, but I knew it was the thought of hearing John's big news. I hoped the news was that he and Erika had finally broken up even though he would never be so excited about that. When I arrived home, fingers numb and toes frozen, the familiar smell of warm dinner greeted me. My mom was home from work early and had began preparing dinner. It was John's favorite, chicken and cheesy potatoes. I rushed up to my room, avoiding the repetitive after school conversation my mom and I have daily. I started working on my homework when the doorbell rang. Downstairs, I could hear John's low voice addressing our parents. "Lindsay, John is here," my mom called up to me. I rushed downstairs to see my older brother and our parents relaxing in the living room while dinner was finishing. I was glad to see no sign of Erika for the first time in months. "Maybe I was right, maybe they did break up," I thought. John and I were only four years apart and we had been best friends up until he left for college last fall. Before he moved out and met his girlfriend Erika, we did everything together. He took me to all kinds of places like movies and sporting events. He was also one of the few people I could tell anything to and it seemed like Erika replaced me when he left. About ten minutes into our conversation, a shiny blue car pulled into the driveway. To my disappointment, it was Erika. The second John saw the car, he ran to the door to invite her inside. "Sorry I am late, I got caught at work late today," Erika explained, "and hi Lindsay. How is school going?" "Good," I replied as I faked a smile. Dinner was done and we all sat down at the table and got ready to eat. "It smells delicious mom," John yelled into the kitchen as the last minute preparations were finished. Time passed in silence when dad finally asked, "So what's the big news John?" John looked over at Erika and she pushed her long brown hair behind her ear. Erika smiled as John announced "We are getting married." "Wow," mom began "I am so happy for you two." I began chocking on a piece of chicken and mom directed me to take a drink. After calming down, I said "Yeah, me too." John replied with a disbelieving look on his dark, tanned face. "Honest," I added in hoping the family would trust that I was telling the truth. I wasn't happy for them at all. Inside, I just wanted to tell everyone I don't want my only brother to get married and have his own family and forget about us. I knew I had to be supportive though, just like he was always supportive of me. Everyone had finished eating while my plate was half full. I guess I wasn't very hungry after such thrilling news. I asked to be excused from dinner and went back upstairs to my room. It was impossible to concentrate on homework when thoughts of loosing my brother and best friend to some girl kept crossing through my mind. I gave up on the homework and sat on my bed when suddenly Erika called for me. Walking down the stairs once again, I noticed all the attention in the room was on me. I took a seat in the nearest chair and Erika began talking to me. "I know you and John are very close," she started "and I just wanted to let you know that we are going to try to include you as much as we can." I quietly replied with a quite "Really?" "Yes," Erika continued, "and we were wondering if you would like to be a bridesmaid in the wedding." I began to think that maybe this whole thing wouldn't be nearly as bad as I thought it would be. "I would love to," I replied back with a smile and this time it was a real smile.
Towards the end of September, my girlfriend and I found out that we were 5 weeks pregnant. I attended the first appontment with her, and we were both very excited on this new great news. We were both excited, but at the same time nervous to let our families know, because we both have a lot on our plates, but both more nervous for her parents and the response they would have.(traditional)
Long story short, my family is excited, while hers is dissapointed. I think they have influenced her actions as of lately, mostly her fathers eyes, for she is the only girl. We've been on and off over a span of about 5 years now, both in our late 20's, have never lived together, and have seriously discussed (before news of the baby) having a future together, getting married and becoming a family.
Now she is stressed out between completion of her house being built, stress at work, her parents feelings towards the baby, and is beginning to focus her attention on problems we've had and still have in our relationship, but mostly my flaws.
Another appt. came and she cancelled without letting me know. A argument developed and then she began to tell me she does'nt have to advise me of anything, and consider us done.
We had an emotional talk later, but she kept saying " reality is were not going to work, and I refuse to raise a child in a relationship so volatile". She told me she needs breathing room, to focus on the house, parents, work, and the baby in that order.
She said she will keep me informed and has called a few times, but leaves no message. I return the call, (I dont keep my phone with me all the time) but she doesn't answer, so I leave a message and she doesn't respond back?
We have not spoken in 18 days and counting, and while am taking the steps to correct some of my flaws, I won't continue to be mistreated this way.I feel I've done nothing wrong. I know I am far from perfect, but our communication problem is both of our's, but somehow it's all my fault.
My focus is on the baby, and the most frustrating part is she hasn't let me know anything, about her or the baby, no text, email, voice. Unlike most men, I want us to be together, be a family, and go through the pregnancy with her, beginning to end.
Im giving her space, at the same time showing her I love and care for her, but I don't know what else to do. I think she is being selfish and immature at this point, I'm a good man with a good heart who wants to do the right thing, but she is making it very difficult,it's not about us anymore. Life is not promised.
Why do you think she is acting this way? Thank you for any input.
they call it news but 99% of it is bad new so wouldnt it be right to call it the bad news at ten oclock.
and what does this show about us as about the world?
Just curious, since I first came on and seen racists and crazy questions about blacks (I was a member since 17 years old, 21 now) Its like no other race exists about us......even on stormfront.org they make say some racists things about asians, and they were big on Hispanics...kinda still, but everyday is black day we even have our own news there : D
Why are blacks so popular?
Even in the real world they are so much worried about the black vote or our health....i'm like wtf....
I even faked being a white women to question this white lady online and found out she wanted to be a black women and asked us questions to see how we answered, and wanted a voice like blacks and even said she has been watching how Tyra Banks and Oprah speaks!! And plans on tanning...reason to study us so we won't feel uncomforbale....yes creepy.
What gives?
To the last poster you are not black, and I am not joking about the white women...she wouldn't have told me if she knew I was black. Also kiss my a$$ : )

lol annmarie..wish they would tell me their secret..
i've known him for a year now. and he's been married for 5 years. although i've known him for a year and a month and sparks were always in the air, our feelings didn't come out of the closet until about 5 months later. i am very close to him obviously i not only have a relationship with this man but i have worked with him. he a pharmacist (just graduated), and me still in school to become one. his wife is also a pharmacist.
overall, i have very strong feelings for him as he does for me. but sometimes i question it. he tells me that you are everything i've ever wanted in a wife, u understand me, and except me for who i am, and then again u also make me see things that i couldn't before. we connect so well to each other its like we are on cloud 9. i really do think i have fallen for him.
and then there was the bad news of his wife finding out. she suspected something and den looked up his phone bill, his credit card bill. noticed that whenever he had a day off so did it. she saw the charges on his credit card of the dinners, the hotel room, the ring he got me for my birthday!
but before all of this, of course i asked him about her. i've actually met her. i asked him are u happy with her. he said no. i asked him for how long have u been unhappy he said out of the marriage for 2 1/2 years. i asked him would u have the guts to tell her you don't want to be with her if it wasn't for me. he replied and said no stuttering. i asked are u happy i am here now. he said yes and i have no intentions of you going anywhere. rite there and then my heart felt reassured, to know that he wasn't just trying to break free. or at least that's how i felt.
now his wife found out about us in august. its is now late october. he cant call me on his cell, definitely doesn't see me everyday like how he used to. because since she found out. just to make his life easier i stop working there. but things are pretty good rite now. he calls me on the pharmacy phone everyday, sometimes he leaves work to come see me. spend about and hour or so. just to see me.
when the wife found out said she was clearly going to move out, just be on her own for a while, separate. he said okay. i asked him why did u say that (i mean did it make sense that i did so... not really.) but i do know that this situation will lead to a lot of consequences. i was terribly scared for him, i mean she was the one he was coming home to.
let me mind u that the minute she found out she said she was going to move, she did find a place, after all he's paying for it, money = no problem for them. its been 2 months why hasn't she moved out yet!
now my question, is he trying to fix things with her as to why she hasn't moved? i mean he says he loves her but not in that way. for the past 2 months I've always asked him about her, how are things at home. he replies and says for the most part we don't say a word to each other its hell, and then they're are days where they do communicate.
should i just leave him alone, and let him and his wife work things out? because technically im still with him on the low. nor does he push me away, but i don't see his wife leaving. my point is i don't see any improvement. this relationship cant progress if he has his cake and eat it too.
This is tough and sure sum of you have been thru this so help a brother out. I dated this girl who was a model, she's real sweet and not ur typical stuk up *****. We dated for a few months then she went home then she returned in January. She's a good girl and doesn't sleep around or act slutty and at 26 years old, she's only had 4 bfs incl. me.
She told me she wanted to stay just friends wen she came bak but in about 2 months, we started hookin up and foolin around. Cool so far but she kept sayin she only wanted to be friends. She played the jealousy game at times but told me 2 days ago that she was an idiot and knew she acted dumb.
Anyways, back in July, she went back home and think it may be permanent and home is Slovakia. After just 1 month, she tells me she met sum1 and of course that hurt....so fast? She started seeing this guy a lot, too fast and I told her to slow down. She then tells me that he's divorced (33 years old) and has a baby boy. So I'm like get away from this guy, its bad news. Of course, this guy tells her that the ex-wife is a ***** and all that sob story crap and I told her once again to get away b4 its too late. She said I didnt know him and he's nice to which I replied, "do you know him?"
Its been almost 3 months now and they are goin steady, I'm kinda over her now and every time I try to tell her, she signs off msn or facebook and does the cold shoulder deal sayin that I'm being annoying (can admit that maybe I was).
Now guys, I'm her best friend but is that how you treat best friends? Then wen she's cool to talk, all is supposed to be fine n dandy. Then about 1 month ago, I land in hospital and she was told about it but I didn't hear from her at all for 2 weeks! I asked her why and she told me that she didnt think it was at all serious.....
Recently, she started emailin me and messaging me on msn and facebook. We talked a couple of times and then 2 days ago, I got real angry (those feelings came back) and again, I told her she's headed down the wrong track - she said she won't listen and for me to stop. I also asked her if she had lied about her past (you can understand my doubts about this girl at this point) to which she said 'no'. I told her I can't trust her, she'd hurt me bad and that we can't be friends and while she played cool, I knew that got her upset and yes there's been nothing back from her. I know she cares about us or she wouldn't bother trying to keep in touch or is 'that' an act of guilt on her part?
Sorry for the long story but for those of you who've been thru this in any way, please tell me wat to do; why is she acting like this....throwing away a friendship just like that, sumthin so deep for this guy she barely knows? Am I wrong to say he's bad news? Is it normal for me to wonder what could be or am I wishing on a prayer? Damn, I sound weak but any help or words of wisdom will do. Thank guys, Chris...

DONT MIND THAT QUESTION MARK.
Ok so You get the news that Not only is my country's president george w bush coming to your country but is also coming to your school and might potentially "teach" you something. The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans=2 0are unhappy
with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country
is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the

I have to explain the story first so you understand how sensitive this is issue is.
My mom has a brother shes always been close with, hes about a year older than her. 11 mo's to be exact.
my uncle got a call from his ex g/f from high school and said that he is the father of her daughter and she never told him till now (28 yrs later)
she also told him that he was not to see or speak to the daughter because she doesnt know this news and she was raised by another man (the ex & her man are both recovering drug abusers)
my uncle was upset but he chose to abide by the ex's rules.
my mom on the other hand was not happy and she set out to look for his daughter. well we FOUND her and contacted her.
one thing led to another and the daughter and my uncle took a paternity test and its 99.9% positive. they have planned a visit to meet up now. my aunt apparently was not happy about the ex having to be in my uncles life (she HATES the ex).
well me and my mom began to talk to the daughter to get to know her better and tell her about ourselves and her biological family.
the daughter was perfectly fine with this.
we wrote about 3 emails back and forth until a few days later my mom got a call from my aunt who was EXTREMELY mad at her.
she said " I know your writing her and I thought you were my friend i thought you were my sister! *Uncle* told you to back OFF and you didnt listen! now you have messed with the feelings of three families!!"
my mom didnt know what she was doing was so WRONG and she was never told by her own brother to "back off". she cried that whole day at work and in the car on the way home. when I found out i was VERY mad at my aunt. It was NOT called for and if anything we should be THANKED for bring my uncles daughter to him!
we should not owe anything to my aunt, if we owe anything at all its to my UNCLE.
well my mom called my grandma and told her what the aunt did. my grandma called my uncle and told him what happend.
now here it is 2 weeks later and my mom FINALLY gets a call from the uncle apologizing for his wife. said shes been stressed at work (doing to much) and she is afraid the ex is going to cause problems and she was "assumed" my uncle wanted me and my mom to "BACK OFF" because when she called him about us he never resonded.
IS THAT AN EXCUSE FOR DOING WHAT SHE DID TO US??
what should we do now? just forgive her and move on???
shes always been very selfish and mean but we still tried to get along with her (we always have been nice to her)
she should not have taken her "STRESS" out on my mom like that...she has too big a heart to handle being yelled at like that.
what about christmas?? should we ignore her when we see her?? or should we act like nothing happend?? how do we forgive her??
WHAT WOULD YOU DO??
my uncle was VERY thankful for my mom finding the daughter because even thought the ex told him that HE could not find her she never said anything about anyone else finding her.
PLUS MY UNCLE CRIED INFRONT OF MY MOM WHEN HE TOLD HER ABOUT THE SITUATION. AND MY AUNT WAS SAD TOO!!
she thought she was doing them a favor.
we also aked permission from my uncle to write my cousin once we found her. he gave her the OK! we did NOTHING wrong.
I mean, in july fuel hit about US$150 per barrell, now it's down to about US$75 per parrell, so why isn't the fuel price halved, or at least come down significantly? Shouldn't we be seeing prices in Australia now for about $0.80c??? I do understand there are global financial issues, but howcome the fuel price has hardly come down at all? Greedy fuel companies trying to hide their profits in all the news and talk and worry about finance??? and nothing is being heard about fuel anymore...

I like RealClearPolitics for its no-frills, all-content style of news and analysis aggregation. But the site obviously skews to the right. The proof for this is mostly anecdotal, but I notice that it features conservative columnists far more frequently than liberal columnists, it prominently features far more endorsements from conservative columnists than from liberal or centrist columnists in its "about us" page, and RCP has a pretty obvious conservative slant in its polling aggregate. My question is whether or not there exists a site similar to RCP but that does not have such an obvious conservative bias. I would be fine with a liberal alternative that I could read alongside RCP as well, just for the sake of balance.
Some have mentioned FiveThirtyEight.com as a possible alternative. I wasn't specific enough when I first asked - my apologies - so let me be more clear now. I know about FiveThirtyEight and think it's a good site. What interests me about RCP is not its polling data, but rather its aggregation of news and analysis. I was wondering if there was a more neutral or liberal website that is a good analogue of what RCP does when it aggregates news and analysis from many other sources.
No matter what your political convictions are, this is an eye opener....What a thankless people we are!!!

Sorry the rest got cut off but you get the idea.
Thoughts please. Remember Letterman is a Democrat.
Fret?? And if it is?? The point of the question was not to see if some hack could take a swipe at me. And check your own facts I am not here to educate the ignorant anymore, if I did site it you would still not believe. Or worse still slander this country. POINT proven. I only wish it was up to the asker to award points.
Latex.. I will apologize to you and the rest for the Source of the site, it seems that the source was Craig Smith. However the facts remain the same reguardless of who said what. Now could the haters answer the question.
Latex now I have to take it back YOUR site proves the letter is fact.
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/l/leno-commentary.htm Just in case you want to reread your site.
What does that have to do with the basis of the letter? Shame like most inciting posters on this site you do not allow e-mail. I can only wonder why? Now the thoughts (once again) I requested had to do with content not author.
It is not a celebration of the letter, I simply wanted to point out that, as you sit at your computer drinking your 3 latte of the day you and I mean YOU have much less to gripe about than say Obama's brother. Now I do not agree with Bush and believe the whole government has become socialist and is leading in that direction reguardless of who gets in. We need a real fiscal conservative not the spend spend spend we have on both sides of the isle. With more to come from either. So I do see your point of the touting of social ideals however would you rather not have clean water, I have a well and could care less. When I get my wind generator I will have no need of the "social services". I do appreciate the roads though as bad as they are.
Not really following you but here is a motto I like to consider "It is better to be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
Ditto. but I like the song lyric better "if I claim to be a wise man it surely means that I don't know"
What part of You do not have as much as Obama's brother to gripe about did you not comprehend? Or are you a "news clip" voter?
Final detail Latex.. You started by insulting me then can not follow a simple statement where is the "disjointed argument"? I stated you have less to complain about than say Obama's brother" you do. And you still never answered the question, you were more into attacking the questioner. So the only opinion of yours I got was how wrong I was in the post which I apologized for my source yet you continued to discredit the facts listed by saying the post was a fake and I take issue with that. You are a typical liberal attack, attack, attack, when someone does not agree with your version of the world.
